Community of Saints Regional Catholic School

Sponsored by the communities of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. John Vianney, St. Matthew and St. Michael


Last year a decision was announced to create a regional school with the support of the parishes of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. John Vianney, St. Matthew and St. Michael. The regional school will be in operation at the start of the next school year, beginning in September, 2012.

None of the three schools involved are being closed, nor are they being merged; instead the intention of the Board of Directors is to transition them from parish schools into one regional school that will be economically sustainable and accessible to more students across the region.  The new school will be housed on the St. Michael campus.

Teacher Hiring update
The Hiring Committee includes current school administrators along with consulting administrators from within the archdiocese.  We are completing 2nd interviews for the 1st - 8th grade teaching positions this week.  We have an amazingly strong pool of candidates.  Over 150 teachers applied for teaching positions.  While this makes for tough decisions, we're confident that we will have a very highly qualified teaching staff.  Hiring decisions will be announced by the end of the month.

Kindergarten
We are excited to announce the hiring of Mara Smith as our kindergarten teacher!  Ms. Smith is currently in her second year teaching at St. Matthew's school. Prior to St. Matthew's, she taught kindergarten for two years in Taiwan.  She has a BA degree in elementary education and a MA in eduction from St. Mary's University.

Monday, May 21st, 6-7:30pm

We are hosting an Open House in the Library.  Families can come any time between 6 and 7:30.  This event is open to families who are already registered as well as families seeking information.  If you know of any future kindergarten students, please encourage them to check us out.

West St. Paul parade
Community of Saints will participate in the West St. Paul parade and we hope you can join us.  The parade starts at 1pm.   Following the parade, everyone is invited to an ice cream social at St. Michael School.  Look for more information next week about the line-up and the ice cream social.
